The Engadget Index Revivied (EGI)

I was reading Ryan Block’s Blog and noticed one of his Resolutions was to revive the Engadget Index (EGI) so I decided to go ahead and do that for him.
Basically it consists of 1 share “purchased” in 50 various consumer electronics (CE) companies at prices dated to October 2nd, 2006. The total value of the Portfolio at that time was $1475.16.
I have revived it by taking those 50 stocks and putting them in to a spreadsheet and using Google finance to calculate the daily increase or decrease in the index.
The 50 Stocks are:

From October 2nd, 2006 to January 5th, 2008 the EGI has increased a grand total of $247.27 to $1,722.43.
